Bench Max * 2

I have been feeling pretty good lifting the last few weeks… not really sure why, but have felt pretty strong. So, today I decided it was time to attempt a bench max – since it has been quite some time since my last attempt. My old max was 360, so after a warm-up I successfully put up 365. It was actually pretty easy – all things considered!!! So, I decided to up the ante and go for 370. After a short rest and some good ‘DANZIG – Mother’ in the headphones I went ahead and did it. Wow!!! I was surprised. It was hard, but not as bad as what I thought it would be. I figure I’ll try 375 early next month. My goal is to get 400 at some point in my life.

I have also started to run 30 mins 3 times a week. Ouch, now that is painful. I’d rather lift insanely heavy any day over running. I started out at 5.0 pace on the treadmill – so only 2.5 miles in my 30 mins. I am now (2 weeks later) up to 6.0 – so that is 10 minute mile pace – 3 miles total. I get laughed at by everyone else, but hey, baby steps right :) .
