Beautiful Couer d’Alene

Posted in SafeTrax by Jeff Hansen on the September 17th, 2006

SafeTrax MedThis week was the IARW conference I mentioned earlier.  I flew into Spokane on Thursday afternoon and took a Couer d’Alene Resort shuttle the 40 or so miles into Couer d’Alene.  Upon my arrival I was a bit in shock, I had no idea how nice of a place I was going to… check out the link above, as words won’t do it justice.

That first night we (my SafeTrax partner Sandie, and her husband, Ron) went on a dinner cruise with all the other conference attendees.  It was about a 2 hour ride with drinks and some great food.  I met several new people in the cold storage industry and other related businesses.  Besides meeting new people I finally got to put some faces with names and voices from various conference calls, etc.

Friday morning was our presentation.  8 a.m.  We were the first ones up, so after a nice introducation we got up and did our thing.  Sandie basically led the presentation while I clicked around showing off the features of SafeTrax Online.  Overall, it went great – we even had some employees of Henningsen Cold Storage stand and express just how much SafeTrax Online has helped them…  which was great to hear.  It is always nice to hear positive feedback from something you have worked so hard on.  We then were asked some questions and wrapped up our presentation.

We had several people come up to us during the next break to request brochures and ask questions.  This, too, was nice to see.  There was quite a bit of interest and some good business should come from it.

BYU Pole Vault

BYUAs many of you know, I pole vaulted at Brigham Young University where I was a four-time all-american and won a National Championship.  My best was 18′ 2 1/2″.  I have long since retired and can only dream of being in as good of shape as I once was.

In a desperate attempt to relive my past ( just kidding ) I am going to be helping coach the BYU vaulters over the course of the next month or so.  I am doing this in hopes of getting in better shape myself, and also to determine if I think helping for the entire season is a good move… lets call this a trial period.

I’ll keep you posted.

300 lbs

Posted in Personal by Jeff Hansen on the September 9th, 2006

I’ve been working out fairly consistently the last 10 weeks or so… ever since Allie was born. This week I benched what I had set for my end-of-year goal of 300 lbs. Feels good… except for my shoulders!

Idaho

Posted in Family,HiValley,SafeTrax by Jeff Hansen on the September 9th, 2006

The family and I are up in Idaho for the weekend, to visit some of Kristie’s family. Everytime I come back “home” I feel a desire to live here again… but it doesn’t seem to last very long. Maybe its just the complexities of relocating the family that cause the feeling to evaporate. Either way, once again I am ready to get back to my home, and my bed.

I have been busy preparing for the SafeTrax trip to the IARW conference. We got the brochure all wrapped up and I have a sample of it hot off the press. It looks very professional and I am pleased with our (Sandie, Juli, Me) work. Lets just hope it pays off… it should. Our SafeTrax homepage just got a major overhaul as well. It is better, but still needs more love when I have time.

There is also a ton work going on with AlarmTrax. AlarmTrax is some software I developed a few years ago for home security compaines. It basically just tracks a ton of information for them, like sales, payroll, tech schedules etc. There has been quite an interest in it, from multiple companies as of late. I haven’t advertised the product at all, but word of mouth is paying me well. In the mean time, I have been working a new and improved version that is already being beta tested by one company and getting great reviews… now I just need time to finish it up.
